Project Overview - Masa Off Grid

Masa Takei is a freelance magazine and screenwriter based in Vancouver, BC. He's written for publications including Canadian Geographic, Explore and The Globe and Mail. One of his writing interests includes outdoor adventures, which has led Masa to develop the Off Grid project.

For one year, he will be integrating into an existing off-grid community in Haida Gwaii, a small island off the coast of British Columbia. He has arrived on island and started to build his own cabin from scratch and aims to become self-sufficient by hunting, growing and gathering.

He is documenting his experiences, challenges and life-changing moments every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for radX.ca.
