arthur + merlin
[they never meant to be.. they just happened.]
xstory;
It was easy at first. Arthur may be a prat, a royal one even and Merlin hated his guts but at the same time he was so lonely and so insecure of himself that it was easy to get close to him.
And he seemed to be fascinated with Merlin for reasons Merlin didn't quite understand (and wasn't even sure he wanted to). In the end none of it mattered. Merlin knew what his destiny was, Merlin knew he was the one who would make Arthur to the greatest king in his century and he knew that he had to do [everything] for it.
He... knew... but still... he didn't ... it came as a surprise when Arthur called him friend for the first time, when Arthur looked at him, at him and nobody else. Blue sincere eyes and a smile who made Merlins heart ache just a little bit. And he... he knew he shouldn't feel like this, he shouldn't like Arthur, it wasn't in his destiny to like him.
He only had to make [Arthur king].
And he shouldn't think about Arthur embracing him, he shouldn't...
In the end he stood in front of Arthur and told him everything, he smiled a cruel smile and told him that they never were and would be friends, that he just was another task Arthur had to pass through to get a greater king then his father.
He stood there with the poison in the water and told Arthur that he didn't have a choice and that he was so dumb for thinking about him as a friend and Arthur...
only smiled.
Told him that this wasn't what Merlin wanted, that Merlin couldn't do it, because deep down Merlin was even weaker then Arthur was.
Told him that even if he [Arthur] had to die, he would do it gladly for Merlin because that was what friends where there for.
And Merlin... felt so unsure, of his destiny for the very first time...
(I'll kill him even if he is my friend... even if I love him... everything for him to become king... everything just for him...
He has to go through real pain before he's ready for being king...
I have to I...)
Merlin liked Arthur maybe since the very first time he got to know him and looked in his eyes full of trust and pain and love...
- oh and by the way Merlin can see into the future, so he sees how Arthur is drinking from the poison goblet because of him and that makes him doubt himself even more then he does before -
xnot much to say about this viddie expect that I loved making it and that it makes my heart ache everytime I see the boys hurting each other. In my eyes the first season was the best one so far, so I just used the first season. My next viddie will be the second season and the next the third and then the forth and then all of them.
