Amber lives in Nickelsville, a tent city in Seattle. She has lived there a little over a week.

Amber says because of the economy family shelters are full, and because tent cities don't accept kids, Nickelsville is home - at least for now.

  • Beautiful young lady! I'm wishing her the absolute best of luck. Times are tough. I hope she doesn't become a victim of the courts and lose her kids.

  • How do you find all these people?

  • I couldn't imagine bringing a child to this environment. I could also not imagine

becoming pregnant without being very financially stable

  • @tifacola Not all homeless suffer from drugs addiction and alcoholism. Too many families are not being supportive as we need to be. My mother has allowed me to stay with her until I get back on my feet.

  • @patsaxon some people don't have living family and if they do they might be abusive or have substance abuse problems.

  • to all the fat hate comenters: they say that low income people tend to be larger due to perhaps a few days with little food, then when they get the money to buy food they tend to binge eat like nature has programmed humans to do in times of famine!

  • she must eat other homeless people
