@ohsteacher What made you decide to sell the Ricco Kuhn? Lack of funds? You seemed quite happy with it, and it certainly sounded great from my limited listening.

@stickom Thanks so much! Appreciate it. :-)

@fanmj23 As I understand, valve (modern orchestral) horn is combination of dozen of horns with their different lenghts of tubbing. So, master Schantal on F and try to apply the same on all other valve combination. To play high, find steady c' and than buzz it with or w/out mouthpiece than build the d', e', g'. Remember all open!!!

Wouldn't it be possible to find the piano part only? Or to put it online for us hornplayers? Would be great to practice along with the pianopart :-)

i liked the holtons sound better than that ricc. bring back the 8D.

ohsteacher, why did you get rid of the Ricco, where is that 8D of yours?

You are romantic player and I hope in next year you get one "Alex 103" and give this heavy artilliery to the charity! Happy New Year!!!!!

Yet another great solo/recital work for horn. I've always enjoyed this work and Frackenpohl's music in general. Steve, lovely playing as always. I was curious, can you change the tempo of the piano part at all? I wondered what kind of freedom you had to affect that.
Finally, I'll make a request. When you get a chance, I'd love to hear your version of the Sonata for Horn by Franz Danzi. It always seems to be overlooked to me. Maybe it's just me but I love the work.
Nicely done! Why did you go with the Holton?

@mdlee52 I sold the Ricco Kuhn so I am between horns right now. The Holton is from my school. The valves are a little worn, but it plays great!!! I have used it on several performances during the last two weeks.
