I wish this video will make more people concern more about the world and those needed and deprived. Do let your affluent friend come and watch this and ask them to act. Most of the footage is from stock photo and others from freinds and internet.
A few years ago, I had the honour of singing this whilst I was apart of the Green Valley Youth Choir. This one day, at choir practise, we were instructed to listen to the lyrics, hear what helen is saying, and to put ourselves into her shoes, looking thru her eyes. Upon listening to this, Monique, 8 years old ran out crying, when asked why she was crying, Monique responded by saying that she was told to listen to it closely, and she felt it, and it was that which made her cry. Gorgeous song...
My english teacher introduced me to this song. The lyrics are extremely powerful. They really speak out and reflect how we humans are so self centered. It is a beautiful and touching song. It really gave me second thoughts.
This is a simply beautiful song - the music and lyric are wonderful, and showcase Helen's musical gifts. I am glad that there are those who can write the kind of poetry expressed here - that articulates so clearly the dilemma we feel when confronted with a world in pain. Thank God for your gift, Helen. Please keep singing out these messages.
Really beautiful!! Terrible what is going on in the world that so many of us just ignore, if it was our country in war or anything we would want all the attention we could get!
"The Lord has told us what is right and what he demands: see that justice is done, let mercy be your first concern, and humbly obey your God" (Micah 6:8, Contemporary English Version). May we be a compelling voice for the suffering people of Burma, and may we be instruments of justice. May we be consumed with the passion to see them free to enjoy their lives in dignity the way God created them to be.
