Soul Brothers is an album recorded by Ray Charles and Milt Jackson and released by Atlantic Records in 1958. The album was later re-issued in a 2 CD compilation together with the Charles / Jackson album Soul Meeting and included additional tracks from the same recording sessions not present on the original LP releases.

i had a label called 'blue funk' back in the early 90's ... just thought it was an ill name 4 a label! then one day whilst out record buying i came acros this album in camden town . looked at the track listing n thought 'wow!' theres a song buy my favoite artist , milt j, and its called 'blue funk!' cost me £3.00 !!!! lol! smoked mad mad weed to this tune...it got brixton high! lol!

@Docnolan1953 This track actually features Skeeter Best on the guitar - I have the original 1958 EP as well as the re-issued LP which inlcudes the Kenny Burrell sides.. but yes it is an absolutely fantastic blues inflected jazz tune...
