He's of course an Icon. Just found an obscure LP called -Mike & Maria, words I love to hear - and he throws down on that joint. Hammond, Piano..sublime. Thanks for posting these vids.
I was so lucky to be tagging along with music hero Jim McGillvray in about 1980 and went with him on tour with Anne Mortifee, Robbie, Renee - I was so shy I couldn't even speak to these people, I married Al Wiertz in 81, I am truly haunted by the great musicians of Vancouver, what a time what a thrill it was.
This is priceless!!! Having worked and hung out with Robbie these clips bring a tear to my eye. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, which I'm still following.
Great to hear Robbie's voice again. In 1995 I was walking down the street and ran into Robbie outside of the Railway in Van. We struck up a conversation, and the next thing I knew, he agreed to come and play on my band's record, being recorded in an East Van basement. He agreed to a tenth of his fee, and we gave him an "I'm not old I'm a recycled teenager" shirt that he looked fabulous in.

What a gifted musician! Fortunately I've had the opportunity to hear him live, when I was living in Vancouver, many years ago.

What a great guy and player he was..
Gigged with him and had a blast.
Couldn't be counted on to show up on time, but that's the price ya pay for genius!
