Streisand's 3rd live concert album, recorded Sept. 6, 1986, on her former ranch in Malibu, California as Democratic senatorial fundraiser and subsequently the roots of The Streisand Foundation. All rights to Barbra's performances on this disc are owned by The Streisand Foundation, which has utilized the proceeds to support qualified charitable organizations committed to anti-nuclear activities and the preservation of our environment, civil liberties, and human rights.
# Televised as Barbra's 2nd HBO special, December 27, 1986, and released on home video simultaneously with the album.
# Barbra remembers in Just For The Record: "After all of my insistence that I didn't want to sing in public any more, I sang...Later, proceeds from audio and video sales of the concert went to my foundation, which supports a number of non-partisan organizations committed to disarmament, civil liberties, and the preservation of the environment. 'Over The Rainbow', with its wonderfully human lyrics and rarely-heard verse, seemed perfect as an expression of hope for the future of the planet."

One voice, the only one! She touches my heart like no other singer.

I read that Barbra Streisand never vocalise or warm up her voice before she sings. So, it's amazing her first song is "Somewhere" - one of the hardest songs to sing! She pulled it off so effortlessly - hit all the high notes!

@freshair345 LOL, I can certainly understand that happening! Barbra Streisand is one of thee Best (if not the actual Best) singers this country has ever produced, hands down, & I love all kinds of music!! Even today, I can think of no-one out there (even with her aging) that can touch her purely in the category of voice. :-)
