From USA Championship Wrestling in Knoxville circa 1988.

Ron Wright is hopping mad after his group defeated The Bullet (Bob Armstrong)....The stipulation was if the Bullet lost, he had to unmask....and unmask he does...Although Wright didn't get exactly what he was anticipating.

Wright does his best Redd Fox impression of a heart attack to follow.

Afterwards the Stomper, Moondog Spot & Bill Dundee lay out The Bullet.

  • Gordon had little work at this point....With Georgia & Florida gone (his main two promotions he did commentary for) he would go on to work for the Fuller's in Alabama and Knoxville in the late 80's before heading to the NWA/WCW in mid-1989.

  • @dwracing39 Your dad and your uncle were great. I used to go to the Rec center in Johnson City on Tues night when I was a kid. I always liked the term Yellow Bellied Knitwits

  • @BigBlackBootyDaddy Can't please everyone Cena fan.

  • @dwracing39 Is he still doing shows or completely retired?

  • Thanks for all the comments. Ron is actually my dad. Hes 72 and mean as ever..lol

  • Up North we didn't see much of Ron Wright except for a few clips. The more I see him online today, the more I like his style. This guy was obviously a class act.

  • @BottomlessJackDaniel I guess it shows how stupid WCW was to let the greatest Annoucer in Wrestling today Gordon Solie along with Jim Ross.

  • One show in Knoxville before I was born, my uncle had a bike chain with him and Ron Wright actually asked him to use it in a match and he'd give it back. He never got it back, but that's pretty damn awesome!

  • He was still with NWA/WCW in 1989.
