For those that are critical of the choice to "stockpile" food I say these things: There are many good reasons to do it. The savings is HUGE and in this economy I'll take what I can get. Secondly, emergency preparedness... whether it be a natural disaster or one of a personal nature such as losing your main household income, I want to be prepared. Also, some religions praise having a years worth of food stored. Don't be critical of those who are smart, resourceful and prepared.

Awsome stockpile, I wish I had a huge room like that to display all of my good free and cheap finds also but for now in the cabinets and closets they are :0)

@NichyMcNich I have over 100 pounds of brown rice, 35 pounds of pinto beans, 68.12 gallons of water in 16.9 oz (700mL) bottles, and I just bought a 55 gallon drum for additional emergency water storage. Our pantries are stuffed with food we used coupons for, not to mention our freezer full. I try not to buy so much processed foods but these are the items that are on sale all the time.

@ShogaNinja you don't necessarily need a wedding ring to be married. I hate wearing rings and I will never wear one.

@wearyourbaby I live in the "phoenix area" and I had to move all of my bottle water in the house...all 516 bottles of 16.9 oz 0_o because the heat will cause the water to go bad. You generally want to store water for only up to 3 months. All of these cases of water I got on sale.

@mssmooth21 A lot of couponers actually make sure they leave a good amount for the rest of the people
HI, thank you for sharing. Is this in your garage or a room with AC? I'm in hot weather area so I can't seem to find the right place to put my stockpiles...

@wearyourbaby
if you knew where I lived, you would chuckle with me at the AC question! I live on the coast and it's about 55 degrees every day, 365 days a year. It's a really different climate and I've only been here for a year and a half, so I'm still adjusting. But to answer your question, "no, I don't have an AC". :)
Really valid point you bring up though; you would certainly be limited on some items if they were kept in a hot garage.

This is my stockpile. I do not keep produce, dairy, meat or "perimeter items" as you called them in my garage, for what I would think are obvious reasons. I do stockpile cheese, produce and meat (in freezer) and there are coupons for these items as well as many organic products.
You can put forth the effort to learn about couponing and find coupons for products YOU use, or not.

My family goes through around 12 boxes of cereal each month, and cereal has a shelf life of usually 12-18 months, so "yes, i really do need (or rather, I really do use) 100 boxes of cereal".
I'll admit the crackers don't have as long a shelf life and i'm constantly having to share those. The junk food is my husband's and try as I may, I can't get him to stop eating it, so I might as well buy it when it's free.
