Peak District National Park: Peveril Castle

I visit Peveril Castle in Castleton in Derbyshire and give a little information about the history of the castle and a tour of the area.
The castle dates back from the decades following the Norman invasion in 1066 and was built by William Peveril, a Norman knight. Over the years the castle has been built up, with extensive work done during the reign of King Henry II.

Castleton and Winnats Pass are on my England trip itinerary!! So glad I got to see it in your video :) I'll definitely add the castle to it too :) I also have Kinder Scout, Mam Tor and Treak Cliff Cavern. Haha sorry it's just weird hearing you talk about all the places I'm going to visit! I found them all on Google Earth and Street View.

@SandJsTravels You'll have a good time there! All the showcaves are great. I quite like Speedwell, I took an American there a few years ago and we had the boat tour to ourselves.

I actually drive through Castleton and Winnats Pass in my video Driving England: Peak District - B6054 & A6187 about 7-8 minutes into it. Kinder Scout is in my first Pennine Way video. I actually filmed around Mam Tor and the old A625 road last year, but never edited it

Great tour, Daniel. I really enjoyed that. Very interesting, and parts of the tour were just plain paralyzing. The heights mostly. Loved the feline. Thanks for in incredible tour. ~Wolf

Great video, Daniel. There's a photo of the moggy basking in the sun on flickr. (Just put "Peveril Castle Cat" in search). Peak Cavern is our favourite of the Castleton caves. Pity it's usually submerged in winter.

@DStaniforth Haha I know. You should have more than 3 options for the thumbnail. I usually get lucky and have pretty decent thumbnails for my videos.

@DStaniforth Ahh you should post it! I "drove" around Mam Tor using street view. It was beautiful! I'm pretty sure I've watched all your videos, I guess I just forgot you've showed those places before :)
