Is our system perfect..NO But are any?Is it free? NO,but it feels like it.Some people have to wait for surgerys like hip or knee replacements, but that is because its on a priority basis, emergencys trump evrything. But we all are free to start buisnesses, change jobs ,quit jobs, retire, skydive, bungy jump, race cars, stab ourselves in the head what the hell ever.were all covered no matter what horrors are enflicted on you, with no BS fine print to f-us arround.NOW THATS FUKN FREEDOM BABY!!!!

Theres no such thing as Pre existing conditions, no trying to find ways to deny you,NO co pay,NOT an extra dollar out of your pocket for anything(well ambulance ride costs which is stupid)No body goes bankrupt, or has to sell anything, borrow money, make payments to a hospital. You NEVER see a bill or know what anything costs. Yes its working, always has, I dont care what you see or hear,We consider ourselves lucky, and find it a shame USA cant do something similar. But your VERY close

Now for dental(covered till 16yr old) optical, perscriptions.its private.Thats where you can get extra insurance through most large companys(who also pay the $60 primium)No Co ops for government medical,no need, absoutly evrything is covered. EXAMPLE. you can be driving with no licence, drunk, with a 12 yr old hooker on your lap, crash, break evry bone, get fingers cut off, taken to er they find lung cancer from smokin crack, and half a dildo in your butt, and its all taken care of no matter what

In Canada we have a single payer setup, funded mostly by income tax,but people who make over 25G a year pay a small primium of about $60 a month for a faimly of any size(in BC, It varys in areas). No its not an option, its mandated, evrybody pays in evrybody is covered no matter what happens,no questions asked by anybody, no denial no cuttoff ever for any reason past or present. This covers any medical procedure you can think of excluding, dental, optical, perscriptions.b
ut any doctor,hospital,surgery -
So do people in Canada have private insurance and public options and are there any fines if you do not have insurance. Im just checking to see if we are comparing apples to apples. Also, if there is a private option is this done through co-ops? If so, how is that working for Canadians?

Americans are paying attention, they just don't want this reform. Here's the real poll data.
Zogby poll (July 16, 2009).
"An expanded role for government in health care is opposed by 48 percent of Americans, while 44 percent support it. Forty-six percent of respondents agreed that a public plan is needed to "keep insurance companies honest."
"The latest USA Today/Gallup poll finds more Americans disapproving (50%) than approving (44%) of the way Barack Obama is handling healthcare policy."

Ya Im a Canadian and I have great healthcare, If ANY politician EVER tryed to go to a fully private system here they would be laughed out of the country.
MAJOR DIFFERENCE BETWEEN---PRIVATE & PUBLIC---HEALTH CARE:
PRIVATE:
Places the INSURANCE COMPANY between YOU & YOUR DOCTOR. The Insurance Company DECIDES what treatment they'll authorize & pay for, or what claim they'll deny & cancel the policy.
PUBLIC:
Your DOCTOR is the one WHO DECIDES what treatment YOU require. NO profit involved. NO more red tape. NO begging with Insurance Co. for approval.
All SENATORS have a GOVERNMENT run PUBLIC PLAN !!

I hope Baucus' Plan HAS the Public Plan in it. The Co-Ops sound like a recipe for failure. The public plan would inject some good competition to the health insurance companies. Think about it, the insurance companies have a pretty sweet deal because they get the least risky population charging them a huge premium, while medicare and medicaid end up with the risky portion of the population. I DO NOT TRUST the health insurance companies. The public plan should put them on their toes.
