In this tutorial I show you where to get Wireshark and how to use it to grab packets going between your browser and server. I also discuss filtering and examining the http address.

it should be noted, as i have just found, that linux users need to run wireshark as root or will not be able to get started, as on step one of this tutorial, Capture->Interfaces, will give an error message if you are not using wireshark as root. good luck and happy learning!

HELP!! i d like to know how i can find the site s servers with wireshark, i m trying to find the dns report.in filter but the filter thin is pink all the time , what s going on ?!

When I start capturing packets with my IP address, its recording about 20,000 packets a minute when my browser isn't even open yet. Is this because another computer on my network is on the internet or what?
