Edinburgh's Meadowbank stadium was built in 1970 for the Commonwealth Games. It has a unique role as a centrally located multi-purpose sports facility and has become an institution for community recreation across all abilities and age groups. The city council is planning to sell off parts of the site and redevelop what is left, thus critically diminishing this resource for ever. A strong and well-backed campaign has been running to prevent this from happening....
it just need a refurb and a lick of paint, its an eyesore really

The Meadowbank stadium was the event venue of my first Roaming Robots event way back in 2004. It would be sad to see it go coz every time I go there, it makes me think of that fantastic day-to remember

We need to preserve what we have at Meadowbank. The Council's plans to replace it with a micro sports centre without football pitches and other facilities is a disgrace.
