  • That would be my guess. I know when we want a note to sound good on a string bass, we try to avoid the open string. Less scratchy, and allows for vibrato.

  • in what mode is this? Gong, shang, jiao, zhi, yu?

  • Why did she play a on the d string? maybe for better control? I guess it is good practice, didn't think about that.
