Matthias Gelber reporting from the Raja Musa Peat Swamp forest half an hour distance north of Kuala Lumpur with a call for action to protect the peat swamp forests as they are the world's most productive natural carbon sinks. The peat forest fires in 1997 in Indonesia and Malaysia were the worlds largest release of CO2 from a single series of related events that the world history has seen in the last 20 years. More than 2 billion tons of CO2 were released - more than the EU releases in one year ! That is huge - help us to protect the Peat Swamp forests in Indonesia and Malaysia
