Brief overviews of Low End J, Low End PJ, and Benavente SCD5 basses. The LEJ5 features a Box Elder top on an Ash body, birds eye maple fretboard, and a B type neck, and a Demeter pre amp. The LEPJ5 features a Buckeye Burl top on an Alder body, maple neck and fretboard, and a Low End pre amp. The Benavente SCD5 features a chambered Holly top on a Walnut body with a set neck. These basses sound and play excellent!! See them at the 2011 winter NAMM show at the Low End booth.

I used a Glockenklang Soul II head and an Aguilar GS112 cabinet for this demo.
Filmed with a Canon SX210 is.

  • Cool basses!

By the way do you drink much coffee?

  • @widepass YES!!!!

  • Thanks for the video, but I'd like to hear more fingerstyle playing. Since most gigs I do I play fingerstyle maybe 99% of the time, it'd be appreciated to get to hear more of the fingerstyle sound. Maybe playing a bit with bridge pup only, both and the neck only. Just a thought.

  • @JHL Thanks!! I will take that in consideration. My other videos have a good variety of finger and slap. I just always get slap happy when I have a Jazz bass in my hands!! hahaha!!!!

  • @noinwe I promise...I have no secret!! Haha!! My Lakland is an older model with no mid freq selector, bartolini pre amp and pick ups, I also use DR strings (marcus miller sig). I usually have the rear pick up on with both coils and the pick up pan knob right in the center, and I usually boost the bass and mid just a little. Hope this helps.

  • @caesarbass Whats your secret? I have the Lakland 5502 & that is the sound that I am trying to get. What strings did & do you use & do you have the Barts? if so what frequency setting on your preamp do you have it on. I currently have mine set to 250. Need your help!

  • @noinwe Thanks!! I used my Lakland 4-94, it was made in 1996....nice and OLD!! Haha!!

  • What bass is being played on the intro song? Very nice warm punchy tone. What ever bass that is you should demo it.

  • how much is that LEJ sir?

  • Hey Dig!! It really is a great playing bass...then again...aren't ALL LEJ's!!!!!
