My latest coaster is a GCI woodie, which was created for a competition on CoasterForce. Here is the comp info:
Welcome to the first NoLimits Coaster competition of 2010. This time the coaster designers at CoasterForce have been challenged to design a big GCI wooden coaster for a small unknown park in northern China that is eager to face the competition of these new big corporate parks that are popping up everywhere. The park board decided that getting a wooden coaster would be the best way to get maximum media exposure and create the influx of new customers that they want, especially since the opening of FireBall have thrown China into a wooden coaster craze. The park have some requirements about the ride, which are posted below...
Competition Rules:
* You (singular) have to use the track-file supplied with this post.
* The track must be safe and efficient.
* You may only use programs/tools that were included in the NoLimits Coaster package purchased at www.nolimitscoaster.com and any 3Ds objects you like to aid your building.
* Send your finished track to: CFNLjudges@gmail.com
* Don't post anything that shows/hints your design, so that a fair Riders Choice vote can be held.
* You have until the 4:th of April 2010 23:59 GMT to send in your track.
Design Requirements:
* Coaster type GCI.
* Nothing may be built inside the red boundaries or above the blue boundary.
* Station must be inside pink boundary.
* 1 Lift hill.
* No "Transport Devices" are allowed (i.e. no kicker wheels/lims).
* Minimum speed between the "first" drop to the final brakes is 45 km/h (28 mph)
* Must be over 1525 m (about 5000 ft) long.
Scoring:
* Construction quality 15 points
* Excitement 15 points
* Originality 10 points
* Safety 10 points
Maximum of 50 points. The winner will be decided by the combined score of the Judges (Max 50+50=100 points) and a Riders Choice Voting (Max 50 points).
NOTE: I have removed the boundaries for your enjoyment as they would have detracted from the ride experience, but my ride did obey these rules and was inside the boundaries.
This coaster actually won the comp out of 5 entries, if you want to check out the results or other entries check them out here: http://www.coasterforce.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=28218
Supporting is auto as we only had a month to finish so time was limited. All credit for terraforming goes to loefet from CoasterForce.
That's it I think, so enjoy your ride on Helios!
