While I dont disagree with you entirely deforestation is NOT the result of the logging industry. Logging companies are in the business of wood so they plant more trees than they cut down. There is more forest in north america than there was 200 years ago. Why? Because we don't need to slash and burn as much forest for farm land anymore, because farming is more efficient. Forests are being cut down by poor people trying to make room for farmland so they can feed themselves in 3rd world countries
