herre is a few ideas...
1} try hitting the center button and the menu button at the same time.
2} you might have to change the hard drive [ which i snot to hard to do their are some very helpful videos up on youtube that might be able to help you ]

My ipod classic stopped working so what i did was held the menu button and the center botton and then hit the back of it 3 times then it will show you y yhu hav that error it might be because if he uses it so much it might be a very low battery thats what happened to mine and its working better than be for
