No Time Like the Past 3/6

The Twilight Zone (S4 E112) Original airdate: March 7, 1963

Paul Driscoll uses a time machine with the noble intention to go back in time and alter past events (in such a way as to minimize the loss of human life). After failing to warn a Hiroshima police captain about the atomic bomb, assassinate Adolf Hitler (in August, 1939 immediately before the outbreak of World War II in September, 1939), and change the course of the RMS Lusitania to avoid being torpedoed (by a World War I German U-boat), he accepts the hypothesis that the past cannot be changed..

(opening narration) Exit one Paul Driscoll, a creature of the 20th century. He puts to a test a complicated theorem of space-time continuum, but he goes a step further, or tries to. Shortly, he will seek out three moments of the past in a desperate attempt to alter the present-- one of the odd and fanciful functions in a shadowland known as... the Twilight Zone..

@ParagramTree So it is you who is posting from the past, for it is not 2007, but 2011 here... Kidding, I see that your dream took place years ago. But seriously, your idea is very interesting! The premise was somewhat used, rather clumsily and in the most irksomely maudlin fashion, in the movie "Frequency", where a son, in the late 90's, communicates with his father in 1970 through a radio unit.

I had dream once about being able to commicate with people from the past via an internet forum. I had this dream after coming across a few internet discussion forum where the last post had been several years ago. Anyway in the dream I came upon a forum which had been inactive since 2002 and posted on it got a reply from someone whose post I noted was dated 2002. I told them that I was posting on there from 2007 and someone replied "well its 2002 here".

@onemanjazzfuneral LOL yeah that's what I was thinking as well. LOL maybe the nerdy explanation is they need fragments from the past to go there, but still they've been using those same reels for the course of the episode so yeah LOL reel to reel. the technology is not so advanced yet. still you have to admit, they're ahead of their time in-terms of story telling.
