  • I have a regular drum set (not electronic) , but I was thinking about buying one of these. But I have some doubts : - Is there a clear differenciation between soft strokes and hard strokes, or crescendos?

    - Can you make rolls in the hi hat or snare, or they sound like regular - fast strokes?

    Thanks.

    By the way, very smooth.

  • @chinoscuticchio

Yo, first of all, thx for the kind words, really appreciated :-).

Indeed, I asked myself the same questions one and a half year ago. I tried out most of the electronic setups available, because I have been drumming since I was eight years old, I own a DW Collectors set. But due to moving to Berlin i had to come up with a master plan how to make sure to play in my flat. With the VDrums you go for a high end set which preserves a high end pronounciation of hard and soft strokes!

To be continued :-): in fact you can play any kind of rolls on any instrument (snare, hihat, toms, even ride and cymbals)...I really recommend the TD12, it's worth buying if one is interested in playing an electronic setup. Also the possibilities with sequencer software and plugins just like Toontrack Superior Drummer or EasyDrummer are worth trying out. Hope I could help, I have dozens of vids up, some contain hi hat rolls and stuff like that, just take a listen! .-)

  • Very smooth! We use the same headphones, too!

  • Yeah, you mean Vic Firth hp? They are the best headphones I have owned so far. just great for drumming but sitting in front of Ableton they hurt a lot after a few hours of working.

  • You love music.

    You love drums.

It is most important thing, I believe.

  • Hehehe, you say it right, man. Drums are one of the coolest things in life. Whenever I find the time I sit behind that thing. Hopefully I will find a cheap place to rent and to set up my dw again. Rehearsal rooms in Berlin are such expensive, it's unbelievable - I could rent a 2nd flat for that money :-)!

  • I love the sound the VF's have! I actually wear a hoodie sometimes when I use them for extended periods. It softens the vise like grip it has on my head and doesn't hurt my ears as much.

  • ahhh, thx, i really appreciate you watched the vid and commented it. well, for most time of my life I have been listening to Helmet (John Stanier), Sting (Manu Katché), The Cows, Peter Gabriel, Jimi Hendrix, The Melvins,...I don´t know to what extent these types of music influenced my drumming...in my words I would say that I love odd patterns, jazz tunes and more heavy like breaks, but I am not sure whether this is th ebest explanation for all of that :-)!

  • you really have some interesting beats. so far, i never heared beats like this. what's your inspiration ?
