This is so beautiful. I was adopted at 2. I found my birth mother on Facebook earlier this year but unfortunately she blames me for my own adoption and refuses to speak to me. It was very crushing after watching this video so many times before (and since). I've thought about her so much, even still. I wish we could've had some sort of relationship.

What about the adoptive parents who put in all the love and work to make that lovely girl the fabulous human being that she obviously is? Idendity is very important to adopted children and I understand that, but it's the adoptees who get hurt when the birth parents suddenly show up and take the glory. I hope this had a good outcome for their sake. X

I just recently met my birthmother and I have to say that I wish it was as beautiful as this. There were no cameras or even tears. I'm glad I did it, but it didn't feel special like I had hoped it would. Although I still have contact with her, I just can't seem to figure out how I feel about everything past and present.

Very beautiful video. My daughter, that I gave up for adoption 39 years ago, found me on Facebook the week before Christmas, 2010. I have always looked for her and hoped that she had a good life. I had pretty much resigned myself to the fact that she would never find me when out of the blue, I get this message. I have 4 other children and none of them look much like me but when I saw this woman, I knew instantly that she was mine! We are meeting for the first time on New Year's Day!
