@pinheadman665 The movie is plenty dark, the rise of two face. I think the fact that neither pulled the trigger made it even more twisted...and the jokers reaction is very believable instead of "oh what? I've been foiled" it's *evil cackle throw me off a building*.

You realize that if this were real life, then that detonator would have been pulled in about half a minute after the Joker gave them the instructions. I bet in the original script, that's exactly what happened, but it was deemed to be "too dark," and so was taken out. Shame, really.
Hollywood doesn't appeal to reality; it does what makes its viewers happy so that they can get more viewers, and make more money.
