The Gotama is for the big-mountain skier who wants the ultimate versatility all over the mountain. This was Volkl's original backcountry twin tip, and it still dominates the category.
Great ski! Best Pacific Northwest ski by far! We get powder a foot or two at a time and then ski a lot of chop and groomers in between. These will handle it like a hungry gorilla with a box of bananas. Mine are now 4 years old and look great, feel even better, and have retired all my other skis. I have a spring rock/slop ski but these are the easy-chair of two planking.
@ktmlover07, you are certainly entitled to your opinion, buy writing, "DON'T BUY" is a bit much. I absolutely love my Gotamas. It's all subjective when it comes to preference, but these skis put me in a frozen state of permagrin. The weight and stability are perfect. And what topsheet doesn't chip?
