Im not going to go into the whole "pirate" stuff & i wont justify it. but in the u.s. constitution it says that copyright must promote art & must be for a limited time. In other words suppose to be for the public good. Is the any reason why someone should still be able make off something after person makes it is dead. what on the net might be wrong. But copyright wasnt meant to last as long as it dose now and wasnt meant for corporations to live high off the hoge off other people work.

Perhaps... You could argue that stimulating the economy is in the public good.

I guess what I wonder is why should intellectual property be any different to any other kind of asset? We don't make people give up their homes if the original owner has been deceased for more than 50 years.

youtube was sold to google for 2.2billion us. only watched about 2 mins so far but the rest is loaded so I'm going to go to the bh, :P

You make a very good point, and I agree with you, but I would like to point out that live video has the same issue, the videos there are not all user generated, there are illegal uploads.

As a musician...I say - 'here here!' - in regards to copyright. It has just become socially acceptable to steal these days! It seems that as long as you are steeling in the privacy of your own home, then it's ok.

i fully agree with you about the copyright

issue(and the idea that viacom is not losing

sleep over us), my problem was with youtube's

position that they had made a good-faith effort

to get rid of copyrighted material...
