Features:
Bang Bang Machine - Geek Love
Senser - Eject

Bang Bang Machine did indeed take the 1992 John Peel Festive Fifty title with "Geek Love", and upon hearing it again it's quite obvious how and why. Unfortunately, they didn't really seem to have anything as strong to follow it up with, and their career pretty much nosedived after this.

Senser hang on in there with "Eject" as well, and are an example of another band who are probably best known for just that one particular tune.

  • BANG BANG MACHINE had more cool songs than just GEEK LOVE.

They released 2 albums after GEEK LOVE.

A best of BBM album is long overdue.

  • Brilliant reminder of the past and in a hungover state watching this show.

The Chart Show is badly needed back, music has become too fractured these days,

  • i see some shoegaze bands on the indie chart in 1993

  • Fuck! Forgot how good Senser were! And 'Geek Love' is ace!:-Dthank you!

  • great, thanks for this 23daves, there was some pretty good music still around in 1993, i sort of lost interst in new stuff ariund 1994/5 apart from some electronic music but as for traditional type indie rock bands it had pretty much run its course

  • Totally agree with smithdream re a Bang Bang Machine compilation. "Geek Love" is one of my favourite songs of all time - would be nice to have this on CD instead of my battered vinyl copy which has been played to death!!

  • loving it!!! awesome tunes!!

  • Senser were #1 on the Indie Chart of 22.05.93, so it's unusual to see them back at #1 having knocked off the music media darlings of the time, Suede. 'So young' didn't seem to have the same impact of 'Animal nitrate'. Anyway, this is the Indie Chart of 12th June 1993.

  • Na na na na eeza Blade and eeza Blade

  • God bless you 23 Daves...wonderful nostalgia across all your clips!

Just please god don't be a Millwall/Chelsea/Sheff.Utd fan and I'll nominate you for presidency sir...

  • A lot of women in the indie chart this week!
