Master of laws Jack Bogaart is a lawyer from the south of the Netherlands. He is standing here together with "Lady Justice" represented here in the shape of a blindfolded woman (how symbolic!) holding the "sword of justice" in her right hand and a pair of scales representing the "balance" in the other hand. On one of the scales lies a chocolate pastry because Jack likes chocolate pastries ( so do I) . The building in the back is the court of justice at the city of Maastricht in the south of the Netherlands. The text at the bottom at the right side says in Latin: "Acuto homine nobis opus est, qui pervestiget quid sui cives cogitent". Wich roughly translated means " A sharp person we need, who must figure out what his fellow citizens think".
I painted Jack surrounded by bright colors using acrylic paint.
The song is "Joan of Arc" written Leonard Cohen back in 1971.
I played both the 12-string and the 6-string acoustic guitars and did the vocals.
I love this song. One day I want to record this with an entire orchestra and a gigantic choir doing the "la'la'la" choruses. As I hear it in my head it must sound impressive.
