  • She was NOT an American, she was French. She chose to be with those who treated her as a human and enjoyed her art...not the Americans full of their horrible racist rubbish.

    SHE WAS FRENCH!

  • A real treat to see this vid! Josaphine Baker is my idol. The Chataeu is marvelous.

  • It is because of things like this and the treatment of African American soldiers during WW II that I will always have respect and a place in my heart for the French.

  • We still have racist scum in America. She was a great person in every way. Thanks Captain from New hampshire!

  • huge problems of money for his castle

huissiers de justice etc... expulsion by the new master of this castle

Joséphine parvient à retarder son expulsion, mais le 15 mars 1969 le nouveau propriétaire la met dehors par la force, et elle s'installe avec ses douze enfants dans un deux pièces à Paris

  • a beautiful home for a remarkable woman

  • She was American! American Indian and African American....

  • She was BORN in the U.S...she WAS AMERICAN...

  • @irislovesdc Time has indeed come and gone since you posted this petite autobiographie. But I'll comment on it anyway, hoping you won't mind. If you have a summer house "around the corner," you're living an incredible life. To be near such history -- all of France, really -- and such beauty. Do you ever visit the home of Alexandre Dumas?

  • Thanks for a very informative summary of Josephine Baker's life. I feel she was way ahead of her time, a forerunner, but sadly it takes a long time for the rest of society to catch up and live by brotherly love and goodwill.

  • She abandonned her American citizenship in 1937 and became fully French. She was American from 1906 et 1937 and French from 1937 to 1975. Baker was very proud to be French.
