Patrick Simmons (born October 19, 1948) is an American musician best known as a guitarist and vocalist for the rock band The Doobie Brothers. He was born in Aberdeen, Washington. He has been the band's only consistent member throughout their tenure.
In 1983, Simmons released his first solo album Arcade. It yielded his only top 40 hit, "So Wrong". The album was reissued on compact disc in 2007 by label Wounded Bird Records.
Yes, that's Michael McDonald in the background - another Top 40 single on backing vocals for him. This song is so different from anything Simmons-led Doobies did, and so different from the solo album's other material, that I guess that's the only reason this didn't nuke the charts harder. What a great rhythm, and a blistering guitar solo. Maybe a little too perfect?
