I am a long-time resident of Santa Clara County, and a Bay Area resident for over 40 years. My wife Joanne and I have raised 3 children, Tina, Brian and Jason who have all graduated from Cupertino schools.

Examples of my involvement in the community include:
• Elected to 5 terms on the Board of Trustees of the Fremont Union High School District (FUHSD) and served as Board President 4 times. The excellent Fremont Union High School District is ranked third in the whole State
• As Professor of Chemistry at De Anza College for over 30 years, I have taught over 10,000 students, and serve as mentor to hundreds of students
• Cupertino resident and community volunteer for 25 years, including
1. Soccer and basketball coach
2. Served as Vice-President for the Regnart Elementary School PTA
3. Highest ticket-seller for the annual Fremont Union High School Foundation Crab Feed, which has raised several hundred thousand dollars for FUHSD
• Active member of Orchard Valley Christian Church, especially on Mission to China
• Closely involved with local Chinese and Korean language schools for 25 years,
Including serving as teacher, Principal and Board Member
• Served on the City of Cupertino Cross-Cultural Consortium (5 C's)

Awarded Research & Development Funds by De Anza College to use Microscale Methods in Laboratory Experiments to Minimize Chemical Waste
