It's hard to believe these guys along with Rush aren't in the rock and roll hall of fame.

wow, at 1:12 it looks like the spec magazine is asking if "alice (cooper) is a fag"? i don't remember that magazine or language like that, huh... rod stewart and "small faces". i know marriott was already in humble pie and played with gfr at shea before this album came out. i wish i could have seen them back then, i was like 13 in '71 so that wasn't in the cards.

@ProudConfederateSon What could be so hard to understand? They were fabulous! End of story

I had this album the day it was released. Having seen GFR in 1970 and 1971, I saw them again on this tour in 1972..I have loved this "critic slammed" band for over 40 years. Nothing today can match the raw Michigan power that they had. I'm so glad to have grown up in this great era. They influenced so many greats including Edward Van Halen.
The critics never got it. Their elite attitude could not comprehend Grand Funk's gut wrenching power and simplicity. Be WE got it and that matters most.

remember blasting this one on a ghettoblaster while working in some indoor pool place, and the boss walks in telling me to "turn the fucking thing down!" Ha, I pretended to not hear him because he was such a hard ass prick! He had to walk through a big pile of crap and all the way up the other end to turn it off. He fired me some time after for something else...but I think the pool thing probably played a small part in it. Love this song more than any stinkin' pool job.

I've got 2 of this album...way cool to look at- it used to be such an art form. Where is the location of the railroad trestle bridge in flint? I'm in Lansing and would love a roadtrip!!!

The bridge crosses Fenton Road, just north of Atherton~~~enjoy the trip!
