  • What impresses me the most is the high notes. Not because they are high, or because on some of them he is jumping from C's below the staff, but because of how musical they sound. Most words I would use to describe high notes would be "screaming", "face-melting", or "paint-peeling". But here, it would be an insult to call them that. His high notes in this piece are sweet, emotional, almost delicate. It's really a beautiful thing, and something I haven't seen in any trumpet player before.
