@amness1a I'm talking about country dancing, not Highland dancing, or reels, or jigs. Nor am I talking about Morris. And I think the reverse of what you say is true: UK media tend to credit every bit of culture to others. That's why our roots have been often been buried, with "tradition" used to mainly to describe state functions like the Trooping of the Colour, The Lord Mayor's Show etc.

@EnglishFolker I certainly agree with you, but I'm American, and we have a heritage just like you...we're not a "mongrel society." And there are people here too that are fighting for our heritage—and the British part of it! Keep your chin up.
