CITY OF WEST PALM BEACH CAN'T KEEP HIDING THE TRUTH

This story I take full credit to have brought to the attention of the media. It was first printed in the Palm Beach Post by reporter Andrew Abramson. Then it has been picked up NEWS12 on 1/5/2012. The reason I brought this story to the media's attention is to let the people know how rampant the racism and retaliation is within the City of West Palm Beach towards the workers and how the management and administration of the city covers things up and terminates employees who make complaints regarding unfair treatment. I am a former West Palm Beach employee and 3 other men were also terminated for making a complaint regarding a racial statement made by a supervisor in the meter shop. We went to our direct supervisor and manager who did nothing regarding our complaint. We then wrote an anonymous letter to the heads of the departments, regarding the hostile work environment, retaliation and mistreatment of the workers, which should have been protected under the Whistle Blower Act. Management and Human resources came to the meter shop and they interrogated every employee in the meter shop one by one. I and three of my co-workers were put on administrative leave.
The former Mayor Lois Frankel and the current Mayor elect Jeri Muoio were notified of our complaint and they did nothing. They did not even question management; they let four (4) employees from the same department be placed on administrative leave with no pay.
I have been attending every commission meeting asking even begging Mayor Muoio and Commissioners to look into this incident for nine (9) months and will continue to bring to the commission meeting all the wrongs and the mistreatment of city employees still continuing every single day and what does the city administration do when things like this happen? They try to bury these atrocious, disgusting incidents and at what cost? The cost is burdened by you the Taxpayers.
