@robertbagforte You a baseball player or QB? I've torn my labrum on my non throwing shoulder for the 2nd time now. Right arm strong as an ox. Strange shit man. I think it was the bench press for me. Good luck.
My first surgery the block worked wonderfully. My second surgery the block numbed up through my head and did nothing for my shoulder. They tried again, same thing - now double dose... I couldn't keep my eyes open. I couldn't talk (larynx didn't work). It felt like I was going to stop breathing - no feeling in my upper chest and head. My face itched but I couldn't feel myself itch it... It was nearly two days like this. And of course, my shoulder hurt due to not receiving any of the block.
The video above was my surgery. A year later I went back for another surgery. I started having pain and numbness in my arm after throwing. Scare tissue built up in the socket thus pinching nerves etc due to lack of capsule space. Some of the scare tissue was removed and they performed a capsule release. This is done by cutting ligaments releasing the socket (allowing space). A year later - I now throw nearly like I did before the first injury. It does require more stretching before hand.
the nerve block is pretty standard now a days, i have had 5 surgerys on my Left Shoulder for the same injury, but the last 3, i actually choose to not have the block
@mntony123 When they block your arm, they use needles to block your nerves in the shoulder. that way they can give u less pain meds, so you wont be all drowsy at the end. Im 15, and they put needles in my neck. Sounds painful. But trust me, you wont feel a thing. After the Surgery, your shoulder will stay numb for like a day and its heaven, becuase the pain would be horrific. so if u get the chance, ask for the block
I recommend it, I had 3 anchors. Long recovery, up to a year.

I just had the same surgery, pretty sure it's the same. I have 4 anchors as well.
It doesn't hurt so bad. But getting up from bed is really bad because my shoulder doesn't support itself.
When my arm is out of the sling like getting dressed, the slightest wrong movement sends fits of spasms up my arm. Did you have similar problems?

@mntony123 i tore my labrum, but the nerves to your arm and shoulder come from your neck, so they do it there
