Schizophrenic Man Terrifies Kids At Party

Just because somebody has been diagnosed with a mental illness doesn't mean they are a threat to you or to our society. Is it not the same kind of ignorance as racism when we stigmatise them with falsehoods and our own prejudices?

@anotheraka actually only a very small percentage of schizophrenic people are violent. you're way more likely to be attacked by a person without schizophrenia than a person with it, you ignorant wank.

I actually get on better with people with labels such as Schizophrenia and Bipolar. They're usually very intelligent and insightful, interesting people!:) If you're labelled with one of these, don't be sad. It can be seen as a gift!

to me, "mental illnesses" are just a a way of thinking thats different, i have "mental illnesses" but i think that they'v made me better, the only one i dont like so much is paranoia lol

@jrib4 - This is a great example of how one can live a good life with Schizophrenia! We need more examples like this one! : ) I agree with you. It's a very small percentage. And the terrible massacre in Norway gives a really bad picture of schizophrenia in general. : (
