The wilhelm scream was first used in a widely seen picture in Star wars 4 (A new hope) but it's origin is actually from an old stock film in which someone gets eaten by an alligator or something and makes that scream. The films name and the person who actually made the scream is a secret lost to time. At least as far as I know.
