Hand feeding your pet Polistes wasps

Studies have shown that if you desensitize your captive wasps to your fingers and hands from an early stage, they will become used to you and not react in an aggressive manor. And, when workers come, the queen's body language around you will influence the workers' behavior too.

once i pulled away and he kept hanging on i would throw him on the ground and then no more pet wasp.. like june bugs when they grab... its just that scary feeling...

When you say desensitize in Early stage do you mean like capturing a wasp larva from a hive and interacting with it like holding it or does sense a smell and it gets used to it, cause I really want to know the secret of desensitizing a wasp I really would try this.

I leave them alone and they leave me alone. I don't harass them one bit and they return the favor in kind. Plus they kill stuff I don't like. They are like my little robot defenders.
