Los Angeles United School District (LAUSD) teachers held a private meeting with the Board President to discuss a possible voluntary two-week furlough. Although some teachers would prefer two weeks without pay, others think a furlough is not the right answer.

  • LAUSD is poorly managed. The last lausd superintendent Brewer was paid out $500,000. This man truly did nothing for LAUSD. This type of pay out was done previously 3 times before. That money could have been spent for teacher payrolls or schools. LAUSD spends millions of dollars in consultants each year. It spends more in pensions than it does per student. LAUSD is considered one the worst school districts in the U.S. Too large to manage? Then , where is all the money going?

  • That one teacher wants to cut waste and not people? Okay--here's an idea. Tell illegals NOT to go to college. It's pointless for them, because nobody can ever hire them. Tell students not to go to college if they can't afford it--in 4 years there aren't going to be a lot of jobs but there are going to be a lot of collection agencies collecting on student loan debt.
