@Ian7570 I underestimated the thinking of the American voters. I guess saying "NO" to everything and having an agenda to extend tax cuts for the rich, increasing the tax on the low and middle class, and gutting Social Security is what people want. I don't evey Americans, your only real options in voting are "Really Corrupt" and "Slightly Less Corrupt".

Wow! I didn't know that Tom Coburn negotiated the bribes for Ensign's mistress cover up!! Thank YOU, Rachel Maddow. Also, does anyone know who actually paid Coburn's rent at C-Street and how bribists continue to be cheered by republicans who obviously want to destroy this country?????

I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasnt lived that life.
And she was speaking about the issue of gender and race at a symposium called Raising the Bar: Latino and Latina Presence in the Judiciary and the Struggle for Representation.
The only bigots are the Republicans and they are becoming increasingly irrelevant.

Sotomayor can say whatever she wants this week. The fact remains she DID state that a wise Latina woman could make a better judgment than a white male. What else could that mean? As far as I'm concerned, she can backpeddle all she wants this week to get the job; but I truly believe she meant the statement exactly as we all interpreted it originally. Unfortunately, the present gov (Obama, Nancy Pelosi, etc) lie and justify it later. It is what it is. 2010 & 2012 can't come soon enough!
