It is true that European migrants claimed the north American continent for thier own.. Once they completed that (wrong or right) they were then allowed to make up rules as to how new imigrants would be allowed in. If mexico wasnt getting its ass beaten by Spain, perhaps things would have been different.. but thats not how it was

It actually came from the Germans that where hired to run the government of Mexico at that time. They brought with them Polka music, now its Mexican heritage music. And since the local up and coming super power made the investment, it shouldve been rightfully thiers. But Mexico suddenly wanted either the land, or compensation for the very dirt they ignored for 2 decades. SO the US bought it from them.. Fought and Won a war, Purchased the land, took care of the neglected citizens of mexico, and STILL people think this is some how an unwanted invasion of Mexic by the US..
