I'm of Cuban descent so I didn't grow up eating this recipe, but being married to a Salvadorean I have been enjoying my Thanksgiving Turkey this way for the last five years. Got this recipe from my mother-in-law and wanted to save the steps so my kids will always have this! Que siga la tradicion!

PS - I am aware that when I put the Turkey in the oven it is not yet bathed in sauce, even though I say in the film to marinate before roasting for 24 hours. I had only one day to shoot this video (for a class project) so had no time to marinade first... BUT be sure you do and cook the turkey in the sauce from the beginning for best results! Thanks for watching!

  • A lot of people have asked me - yes it's best to marinate the turkey in the sauce for 24 hours if you can. Then while it's roasting baste the turkey in sauce occasionally. It really will come out juicy and flavorful and won't dry out!
