Bumblebee costume (homemade transformer costume) halloween 2009

When my 6 y.o. told me he wanted to be a transformer for halloween, I knew I had to try to make him one that actually transformed. I have never seen the movie or shows but he did have a couple of small toys I looked at. I knew I couldn't make him anything too complicated with him being 6 and me...well being me LOL So after a few trials and errors, cuts and bruises,lots of headaches, this is what the finished product looks like.......Thanks to my husband for his creative input as well as my Uncles and my Sister. It turned out to be quite the family project !! :-}

@fwigoboards I didn't have a plan. I just winged it, until I got basically what I wanted. Check out pages 3-5-7 & 8 for info about the car. I would say that each car would be different based on who the costume is for. This was for my 6 y.o.. I went to walmart & got a boxes all shapes & sizes, kept lining them up & re-arranging until I thought it would work. For me I wanted him to have a costume where he didn't need someone else to "fix" it and put it back in place after he transformed

yes cpcomedy314 it is eco-friendly lol. He played with the car until Feb of that year. Something most kids don't do with their costumes. The headlights and tail lights were used again on the next years costume (optimus prime) most everything for the car was something that we had and re-used. :-)
