I patched the rom and translation using a program called WinIPS. It's a small and easy program and I never had problems with it.

Yeah thats one of the things I like about the game, you can make up your own spells (called mantras in this game). The power, affinity, effects, targets and MP cost of the mantra are all determined by what letters you enter in when creating it.

Oh yeah and NPCs will tell you mantras and you can also enter in the ones the enemies use too :P

I saw this before playing and remembered how ridiculous PELUCTEFAEUS when I started playing

I'm on day 1 with Sion, so I just started out. I decided to try putting TEFAEUS(NA) on the end of the basics just to mess around and I'm fairly overpowered now. The mantra system seems super broken, I guess I'll try not to exploit it by learning suffixes too early.
