It is a small fortune for one of these and I agree that you don't need one to get fit, but so does she. Every spot on tv I see her do is about getting fit with nothing to work out with but your body, or canned goods, or even jugs of milk. She also demonstrates many times with minimal and inexpensive equipment. Options. It's all about options.

@thelorettarose What about them? If you're asking whether they should buy one, the answer is no. But there are other ways to lose weight and/or get fit. You don't need expensive equipment for that. Can a family that can't afford a $300 chef's knife and a $200 cutting board and $300 enamelled cast-iron casserole dish still cook food? Of course they can.

Yeah, but I bet they also SPENT a bundle to have her endorse it. She's no idiot, she knows she's as much a brand name as an individual now and I'm sure she charges accordingly. It would be stupid of her not to. But will enough people spend on a luxury item in the midst of this recession to make it worth it? We'll have to wait and see.
