first kick start of Suzuki RE-5

Just got the 1975 RE5 today, worked on it all day and got it running. We decided to try a kick start and it fired right up on first try.

BS! I own 2 and was a Suzuki tech/service manager, and I could kick start them no problem, new/well broke in/ worn out. It just takes a man!

its a shame suzuki never revisited the rotary engine, can you imagine the redline on one if those if it continued to evolve and become their flagship super bike engine?!?!?! and on top of that, if it was turbo charged?! it would make the hayabusa just look like a fat pig.

If they could have done something to drastically improve gas mileage, in my opinion that's what really kills this bike. It sounds cool and is fun to ride but 20mpg is just not acceptable on a bike. My fuel light comes on at about 60 miles, then I run out about a mile later and need to switch to reserve.

What's the Max RPM of the RE-5 as Rotaries rev a lot higher

I have never been able to kickstart mine.

Shoot, I don't know. My roommate did it and I haven't been able to replicate the amazing feat. I think he kick started it 3 or 4 times that night.
