my mum and dad got 2 whippets from him in the early 90's he really loved his dogs,
I met him when he stayed in edinburgh,i was in a band and sung at the time he told me i should sing a cover of joan baez song "the night they drove old dixie down" what a great guy sorely missed, never heard a voice like in my life or probably again

Billy, was a true Dundee laddie. I met him a few times as i worked for his uncle willie. He was a real down to earth guy, what a voice!



Billy was simply a phenomenon. Staggering vocal ability, emotional range, musical instinct and lyrical invention. On top of his vast talent, he was also one of the most beautiful, gorgeous-looking men on the planet.

Been a massive fan for years. Great voice! Saw them live at The Hacienda many moons ago. However, I've not heard this track before and Jeez, just blown away. Why, Why, Why? So much to say, not pretentious just down to earth. I thought I'd sorted my Top 10 in my life until I heard this! Yep, it bows to the Eighties but really it's timeless!
