http://www.PondMegastore.com Lotus shown growing in containers and water gardens. Lotuses are easy to grow and can begin blooming about 6 weeks after planting a tuber. Plant in a large container with plenty of soil and room to grow horizontal (minimum 16 inches wide unless a dwarf / exquisite bowl lotus) The container does not need to be deep lotus grow across the top. Fertilize only after you have standing leaves, 1 or more above the water. Fertilize often and watch for nutrient deficiency. We cover that in another video. Lotus do best in warm water above 60 degrees during growing season and can overwinter to zone 3. Do not put them in the deep part of the pond or cut the old growth below the water line as you may drown the hollow tubers.
Lotus flowers are so exotic, beautiful and mysterious. I would love a large water garden pot full of them on my balcony.
