Why do non-Viet people confuse pho with so many other types of noodles. Viets make a clear distinction between pho, hu tieu, bun, mien, mi, banh canh etc. Why don't you just call this Pad Thai? If you say Pho people will confuse it with the specific Vietnamese pho while to Viet this isnt pho at all.

Pho is Pho. Hu Tiu is Hu Tiu. They're 2 different rice noodles. Although Pho and Hu Tiu are flat, but Hu tiu is way thicker

she is using the lao pronunciation, not the vietnamese one.
pho is a word that is commonly used in lao.
